Our Story
Meaningful Places, Made to Last
Holiday Woods Make You Home Series began with a simple idea: the places that shape our lives deserve to be remembered in a way that feels personal, warm, and lasting. From childhood homes to family barns and neighborhood storefronts, we turn customer photos into colored portraits on wood that celebrate the memories attached to them.
Each piece is created to feel like more than décor. It is a keepsake made for gift giving, family milestones, and the quiet joy of seeing a beloved place preserved with care.

Crafted With Care
Hi, I’m John—the one-man creative shop behind Holiday Woods, with plenty of love and support from my beautiful wife and our three kids.
The photo on this page is of me and my dad, and there’s a reason I chose it. Back in the mid-1980s, my dad began hand-drawing and coloring custom portraits of homes and buildings. Over the years, he created 96 different buildings and homes. As a graphic designer, I always wanted to create my own series and join in on the fun.
My tools are a little different. I use photography and Photoshop because, admittedly, I didn’t inherit all of Dad’s artistic talent! But the heart behind it is the same.
Because a home is never just a house. It’s Christmas mornings, family dinners, kids growing up, and a thousand little memories made within those walls.
With Holiday Woods, I get to carry on something my dad started more than 40 years ago—turning a cherished home into a keepsake meant to last for generations.
And maybe someday, someone will pull that little house out of a Christmas box, smile, and say:
“I remember that home.”
That’s what makes it all worthwhile.
